Log Home Construction Progress
January 31, 1999
We thought we were ready for the construction to start... The foundation was just finished a day earlier... Then we got 6" of rain in one weekend... The delivery of the logs and materials is in one week and the crew scheduled to start building two days later... And we have all this water... Maybe we'll just keep it as a big swimming pool...

February 6, 1999
Delivery day finally arrived. Four semi's show up about 7:30am. Most of the week was spent doing "water control" to get things dried up. It's still pretty wet, so I rented a large all-terrain, all-wheel-drive forklift with an extending boom so that we don't have to get so close to the wet spots. Besides, with all-wheel-drive, I can't get stuck anyway... Well it's a good theory, but you can see below that theory and fact don't always agree.

We finally got everything unloaded. It's amazing how much can be loaded on to 4 semi's. Especially when it's spread out.
February 13, 1999
The buiding crew arrived on schedule and had the sub floor built in a couple days.
